"I was a solo female traveller and I can not recommend this hostel more! I felt safe, welcome and comfortable my entire stay. The rooms, toilets and showers were very clean. The dinner was a delicious home cooked meal which was such a treat at the end of a surf day. The staff and management were so welcoming and friendly. I would 100% stay again"

"The atmosphere is super chill and welcoming – the team go out of their way to make you feel at home. Activities like barbecues, sandboarding trips, and ping pong games make it easy to meet people. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious every day – definitely a highlight! Surf instructors really helped both beginners and intermediates make progress, all in a fun and relaxed vibe. You feel so good here, you just don’t want to leave."

"Nice family feel. But majority of the guests are on the surf packages so they leave in the morning and no one will be in the hostel till dinner which can be seen as a plus or a minus. Beautiful terrace and hard working staff and volunteers"

"Having a curfew of midnight as an adult feels a little off. You are only able to enter with a physical key that I believe only the volunteers have. I think this could become unsafe if someone is separated or left outside, there should be a digital code activated door installed. The owner was hard to get a read on! Sometimes lovely and sue or friendly and sometimes very suspicious looking at people as if they'd stolen something!"

"The place was perfect and authentic. The staff was amazing. The host was warm and friendly, the surf instructors were fun and cool, the kitchen staff were top shelf ( we always came for seconds and thirds), the yoga instructor was an amazing teacher. The food was great, the activities were very engaging and fun. We visited a couple of beaches in our stay not just one. We went sandboarding and had a beach bonfire. Overall, a great experience."

"Everything was beyond amazing!! It was the best experience, the staff were all increddible! The surf lessons were so helpful & fun, followed by yoga in the evening which was a perfect way to end the day. We had dinner each night at the hostel & it was so delicious. Sunset Surfhouse is the perfect place for any travellers - solo or with friends. I cannot wait to come back asap."

"Lovely place, well thought out communal areas providing lots of space to relax and socialise. Super well organised with surf lessons, group dinners etc. Staff were great and really added to the environment in the group. Food was absolutely superb. Very clean and well maintained."

"Most of the rooms were internal to the building, so they didn't have external windows and were quite noisy."

"There is such a great vibe at this hostel. Everyone working and staying there is super fun and welcoming. We stayed in the private top room which is super nice. It has an ensuite bathroom with a rooftop view. The owner Abdul is such a lovely human and really wanted us to have a great time in tamraught. They rent nice surf boards and good wetsuits that are in really good condition and the food is amazing! Will definitely go back. Loved it."
