"Really friendly staff - they even gave us some tasty Icelandic chocolate on check out! Big comfortable room with lovely scenic views. Food in the restaurant was very tasty (especially the fish). We got to see the northern lights from here and they did come to our room to let us know that they could be seen (we had thought it would be too cloudy) which we really appreciated - thank you!"

"We loved our stay at Hotel Raudaskrida! The room was spacious and homey, the bathroom was very clean and the owners are super friendly. We only stayed 1 night on our way through Húsavík but wish we could have stayed longer. Even managed to catch the northern lights in the sky above, which they offered to let us know if it became visible. Highly recommend!"

"Breakfast could be better, lacking variety. The hotel is located a bit far from Húsavík and Mývatn—about 25 minutes to Húsavík and nearly an hour to Mývatn."

"It was a pleasure to stay there. Obviously, the hotel is a family run business and it shows in every single detail. From the very friendly welcome to the possibilty to stay in the main building for the evening where there is a large offering of books to read and family games to play as well as the cute cat - we loved everything. We were offered freshly home made cookies and other snacks for free. The breakfast was gorgeous: it left no desires unfullfilled : vegetables, fruits, home-made bread, marmelade as well as cake & cookies. We were sad to only stay for one night and would definitely return!"
