"A very nice and atmospheric resort. Beautiful surroundings. Lots of parking spaces. There is a gazebo on site where you can barbecue and spend a nice evening. Additionally, a small playground for children. The rooms are very clean. Two toilets and 3 shower cabins per floor."

"Kelly and his family are amazing hosts. We feel in family! :-) Kelly is so helpful and talkative, always able to give suggestions and help finding activities to do, contacts, etc. His son, Junior, went with us to many places and activities and we fell him like a younger brother! :-) All the family made us feel welcome and at "home far from home". Installations are simple, but in a nice location, in the countryside, quite and friendly place, not far from Goroka center/easy bus connections but we have everything we needed, even to cook our meals. If you want a simple and family place to stay, with someone who will help you around, this is the place! If once I go back PNG and Goroka, I'll stay here again! :-) Thanks Kelly, Junior and family! Hope to see you again!"

It's normal to have light and water cuts. But it's common in the region/general problem and not from the place.

"The price and location of this hostel are excellent. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is available. Tobias and the cat Felix (aka Garfield) did a great job running the place while the owner, Christian, was enjoying his vacation in Greece. Highly recommended"

"A Pleasant Surprise at Palm Garden! We booked Palm Garden without checking any reviews—only afterward did we take a look and feel a bit unsure. My husband even told me not to say anything about the booking, just to see how it was when we got there. But to our surprise, from the moment we arrived, everything was wonderful. At the doorstep, we were greeted by Madu at reception, who welcomed us with the warmest smile—as if we had known her for years! 😊 Our room was spotlessly clean, very spacious, with a large comfortable bed and a lovely balcony overlooking a beautiful view. It was clear that the staff really care about maintaining a high standard."

I was also really touched by the sign at the entrance of the bathroom clearly stating “Female Toilet, males not allowed.” It shows real respect for women and made me feel very safe. Little details like this genuinely warm your heart. I honestly don’t understand why this hotel has such a low rating on Booking. If the full score is 10, I would definitely give it a 10. "Wonderful staff; onsite restaurant including with a wide choice on menu, reasonably priced if using the unofficial exchange rate. My room was situated by the lake edge and was such a wonderful experience listening just to the waves crushing in the night and awaking to a wonderful sunrise. Truly bliss. Thought powered by solar, my shower was reasonably hot and lighting though dim was constant. I still recommend taking a torch for the sometimes power cuts. Be sure to arrange a boat trip….. you won’t regret it. Eagle bird, cliff jumping and snorkelling. One might even be able to visit the Rastafarian community near by."

Wifi was only available in reception area and to reach room I had to negotiate a steep set of stairs where railings were sometimes missing. Could be potentially dangerous and not recommended if one suffers from knee problems. Whilst orders were excellent the service could be vastly improved. Orders took for ever to arrive and were often cold. Management, if reading, please sort this out!

"This place is simply fabulous - clean, quiet, cozy, everything works, in a great location near night market, mall, fast food etc, easily reachable by bus, yet, some rooms face forest. It's self check-in, all information is provided timely and clearly, communication is brilliant and any questions promptly answered. One of the best place to stay ever."

There is nothing not to like. But, as you need a code to enter your room, its probably not a good idea to rush to the toilet in the middle of the night, and forgetting phone with the code in the room 😊 (didn't happen, but could 🤣). Love it here...
