"We really enjoyed our stay at this charming hotel surrounded by nature. The location is absolutely beautiful — a rocky mountain backdrop, a peaceful river in front, and plenty of hiking paths all around. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, perfect for a few days of rest. Our room had a lovely view, was comfortable and clean, and the heating worked very well. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We also had dinner twice at their restaurant and both times the food was great. They always offer one vegan soup and one vegan main course — both were delicious!"

"There was a slight smell of humidity when entering the room, but it went away quickly after opening the window. Also, we would have preferred a single double mattress instead of two separate ones, since the bed frame was double. A small suggestion for breakfast: it would be nice to have a few more vegan options, such as plant-based milk, vegan yogurt, or a vegan pastry — otherwise, the only vegan choice is bread with jam, and for €12.50 that’s not much. However, for non-vegans the breakfast options are more than enough. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to stay if you love nature, peace, and good food. Highly recommended!"

"The cottages are nicely located, with enough space between them for privacy and nearby the river. The hotel restaurant was very nice and convenient, as well as the bread service in the mornings. And the beds were good."

"The bathroom was extremely tiny. Literally showering above the toilet, smaller than boat cabin bathrooms! Quite weird for the given space in the cottage. Also the cooking facilities were fairly cramped, you cab only fit 2 small pans if you're lucky. However, it worked out well enough for us. Lastly, there are a lot of playground facilities for the kids, which sounded nice, but they were also located right in front of (most of) the cottages, which can make it quite noisy (depending on which children are playing there)."

"Everything. In summer, when the site is full of campers, the view from the cabin would be obscured by tents. But, end of September, when we visited, our view was green lawns sloping down to the river. Lovely."

"Booking.com told us it was 7 miles from Vianden. It is not. 22-24 depending which route you choose. We had planned to go the 7 miles back to Vianden for dinner, but 22 winding miles? No."

"Location was excellent, in the middle of the woods and several very interesting and accessible hiking routes, and the house itself was very warm, dry, and comfortable. There was pre-chopped wood for the fire and even bottles of wine in case guests ran out. The host communicated well in advance of our arrival. Ideal for couples looking for a romantic getaway."

"There could be more arrival instructions, we did not have a car and really struggled to walk from the train to the house. There were also no check-out instructions. There could have been more cleaning supplies, including sponges and dishwasher tablets to wash dishes. We had to do dishes by hand, and having to cook every meal meant that we used almost all the dishes to use the single dishwasher tablet available at the end of the stay. Also there could be extra blankets to keep warm in the coldest part of the year."

"Only advice is to put a sign at the beginning of the road to know how to find the place. Google maps was way off and we arrived in the evening so it was very dark."
