"The location is close to Savannah Park and the staff"

"We used to live in Trinidad so know The Kapok quite well. It didn't disappoint - a wonderful breakfast up in the top floor restaurant with great views. The pool area has been improved and is lovely. The rooms are a little dated, but this almost adds to the charm. Towels and toiletries provided and replaced daily. Room very clean. Good sized bed, but a little bit squeaky."
"The bar outside near the pool area was closed - probably as it was quite quiet at the time. Will be a great feature in the summer ..."

"We loved the Kapok , very comfortable beds, clean rooms, friendly helpful staff and we enjoyed the pool. Loved the location near the centre but quieter, enjoyed eating there and the nearby walk in botanical gardens. Great breakfast too with city views."

"I was pleasantly surprised, knowing it is an old hotel. But it was clean, the staff were polite, pleasant, and efficient, the included breakfast was lovely and both restaurants served delicious dinners. During my 10-day stay, it felt like home away from home. My room was separate to the kitchen and living area which had a fridge and microwave. I was very comfortable. The area is safe with good security, car park is safe, and it is close to the shops in Maraval and to the Queen's Park Savannah. Highly recommended Thank you Kapok."
"Some areas of the hotel had very worn carpets and a few of the elevators felt a bit 'wobbly' but they are well maintained and there were no emergencies... no one got stuck. They offer room service but for breakfast you have to pay for the breakfast AND room service although the breakfast is included in the rate. So you have to go to the restaurant and collect your breakfast or else pay again for it."
