We tried two restaurants and the steak restaurant (The Deck) was a standout. Staff were exceptional: warm, relaxed and genuinely helpful. They also did a thoughtful birthday touch which felt personal. A small but adorable detail: they have cute little sunbeds for kids on the beach."

Not a dislike, but good to know - because it’s built on a hill, you’ll use the resort shuttle frequently, but it’s part of what creates the privacy and views.

Restaurant waiters are useless, slow, just talking to each other. . Even if you are a guest at hotel they want you to pay for the huts. Hotel guests should get at least a free hour daily. There is no real beach seating for hotel guests to relax.

"The hotel is great and in an amazing location which is right inside the airport. Staff were polite and amazing, great buffet breakfast, there is mini zoo which had wildlife such as monkeys, crocodile, tortoise, parrot, ostriches, peacocks etc. The rooms and facilities was great and it was a great stay. They provided free shuttle to the airport which is a bonus."

The pool could do with a bit of cleaning.

"The location is the best. Easy access when arriving at Lac Rose. Most activities are located right in front of the hotel (horse/camel riding, quad rental to ride in the sand dunes, etc). The hotel is literally on the lake, with the terrasse and dining area built over the water."

Some items on the menu tasted like they were not fresh. The AC in the room was a bit underperforming and noisy. The lock on the glass door going to the balcony was broken and could not be locked.

Only the lack of internet. There are no connexion even with data. So it can be frustrating when connexion is needed (to check flight for exemple)

The location is beautifully quiet and serene, away from the hustle of the city. Surrounded by nature and heritage charm, it felt like a perfect peaceful escape. It is slight expensive and the restaurant don't have paper menu. Please tell them to have menu on the table or present it when asked.

"A good hotel with a decent and tasty breakfast served in an interestingly located restaurant. The rooms are clean and spacious. It's pleasantly cool in summer even during the heat, although there's no air conditioning. A special highlight is the mountain river flowing nearby — you can hear its sound at night. The location is truly excellent, especially convenient because the free shuttle bus stop is right next to the hotel. In the pool, the water is very warm, but it was impossible to use it — all the spots around the pool were constantly occupied."

"The location is right in the heart of Georgetown, within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions. The accommodation is beautifully designed,easily the best I’ve seen in Penang. The staff were incredibly friendly and always made sure we were well taken care of."

If I were to nitpick, the dinner menu could be a bit more interesting. Other than that, everything was great.

There's an ATM, restaurant, and general store a short 6-8min walk away. The gardens on the grounds are very well kept and really beautiful. The room was lovely, spacious, and as per the photos online. The amenities are great and wifi is good. The staff were amazing! Such beautiful, lovely, kind people and very accommodating. The food at the resort was fantastic! Very serene and peaceful place with beautiful staff and comfortable common areas (pool, bar, restaurant etc.). We didn't have time to explore the area but I know there's beautiful sights/to-do's nearby so next time we will be coming back! 100% recommend!"

The water pressure of the shower is very low, and you have to pay if you want to use a pool towel. Location is great but if you can't/prefer not to walk to the little shops just remember to bring some cash.

Couldn’t find any ramp which could be wheel chair friendly. A ramp could be introduced for ease of moving luggage’s and for elderly people.

"Wonderful little resort in a tropical garden, spacious room, very friendly staff"

The resort is not in walking distance to San Ignacio. You need a car (and worse a parking spot) to go there. This makes you dependent on the hotel‘s facilities and restaurant. Be aware that the breakfast included only means a small selection of breakfast choices. Whenever you want something extra eg eggs you pay extra! You pay a 10% „service charge“ on everything, even on the organization of tours, which is quite a ripoff. I did some activities organized by the hotel. These tours (especially the mayan cooking class) are real good, however as a single I had to pay for two people (minus a small discount). Moreover, tax & „service charge“ were added to the net prices mentioned in the flyer. Taken together this makes these tours unacceptably expensive.

The fact that, despite the heat, rooms were not supplied with drinking water & this had to be ordered from room service at $5 a small bottle. We had just arrived from staying at the Hamilton Princess hotel in Bermuda &, as is normal for luxury hotels of this standard, that had no problem in supplying drinking water to guests free of charge.
