Set on 17 acres of countryside on the banks of the Waikato River, Huka Lodge boasts an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court, free airport transfers and a spa pool. It offers air-conditioned suites with a private terrace and lovely river views. All suites feature a minibar, an electric kettle and a coffee machine. Each suite has a separate dressing room, bathrobes and slippers. The bathroom includes a bathtub, a hairdryer and free toiletries. Huka Lodge is just 10 minutes’ walk from the famous Huka Falls, and 5 minutes’ drive from Wairakei International Golf Course. Taupo Airport is a 15-minute drive away. "What's not to like? The food at Huka Lodge is stunning, absolutely stunning and the staff are so friendly and helpful willing to do absolutely anything to make your stay that much better. The views from anywhere at the lodge are amazing as are the gardens and birdlife."

"wonderful setting and the room was comfortable, warm and luxurious. The setting is amazing and each room has a view of the river. The service was very attentive and impeccable. We were Meg at the door every time we arrived, our car was parked for us. We were given a personal tour of the main building and a glass of champagne when we arrived. The food was fabulous as expected. All in all a perfect stay."

"Tour costs are very high and disappointing. If flying in from overseas, it took us 5 hours drive to drive the 217km from Auckland, and helicopter transfers were extortionate (3-4 times Australian prices, 5 times more than US). Not the lodge’s fault, but it will make it more difficult logistically to go back."

"Stunning property situated on the river that runs from Lake Taupo to the Huka Falls. The main lodge is beautifully appointed and provides seating and dining areas inside and outside. The rooms are equally wonderfully, each having access to a Porch, rolling grass and the river view."
