"The room had gorgeous wood work and a high ceiling, very spacious and comfortable, water was hot and the heater kept everything warm. I'm not a breakfast person, so i really apreciated the fresh orange juice and the tasty bowl of fruits. Staff were super nice and helpful. It was very rainy so we didn't get to enjoy the garden that much, they had open fire and heaters though"

"Reception was outside our room so we could listen when late guests made their check-in, went up the stairs and closed their windows. We stayed during winter, we were wearing warm clothes but the breakfast room was kind of cold, even with the heaters."

"This Riad - with it's fabulous garden/restaurant - is a great place to stay in the heart of the medina. The rooms are very spacious and atmospheric; so are the terraces and the little library/chillroom. We loved the colorful en authentic furniture. The staff was very helpful and nice and the breakfast and dinners were so good that we didn't look elsewhere. The medina in Fez is the true Morocco and a world in itself. We hope to return one day."

"Location fab and staff welcoming. The riad is really beautifully decorated throughout with wonderful traditional Moroccan artworks and decorative carvings. Breakfast was delicious and a generous start to the day. We ate at the adjoining Ruined Garden restaurant every evening during our 3 night stay and enjoyed lovely flavoursome local food."

"Really really stunning - like staying in a palace. Oh and there's a tortoise who lives in the garden. If you're looking for directions, follow the signs to the RUINED GARDEN, the Riad is attached to the restaurant."

"Great to experience staying in a beautiful restored riad in the heart of the medina. Our room was magnificent, with decorated ceiling and original furniture. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Like an oasis of peace in the heart of Fes."

"I stayed 4 nights in the Shoowaf room and it's grand with an amazing ceiling, beautiful window coverings, and a comfy bed. It's on the middle level up some steep, narrow steps. The interior courtyard is large with lovely furnishings. The riad has a great location. The guy who helped with breakfast was very nice."

"Breakfast was served daily in the adjacent Ruined Garden restaurant and it was the exact same every day. This is a restaurant, can't they offer something a little different each day? The Shoowaf room had windows overlooking an exterior laneway and men would be taking loudly out there past 11 pm. It seems like running the restaurant is the main enterprise and the riad is very secondary. The only staff around are at the restaurant. I needed to organize a transfer to a train station and sent a message via booking.com. Eventually, I received a reply but it wasn't quick. The hospitality I experienced at other riads in Morocco seemed to be lacking at Riad Idrissy."
