"Perhaps the best beachside location I have ever stayed at. Such a beautiful setting with the little chalets set back from water, a nice rustic beach restaurant and a safe place to swim. The one bedroom superior rooms are exceptional, super clean and tidy and quite large - the sunbeds at the front are nice for an afternoon relax. The food and cocktails at the beachside restaurant are next level, along with the sunsets views down Tangalle Beach. Uvini and the reception and staff are super friendly and the restaurant staff lead by Chamal are an absolute great bunch, always attentive and looking after all your needs. What a gem!!!"

"This hotel is fantastic, you have everyhting : a cute bridge under mangrove which will bring you to the wonderfull beach with his almost private bar/restaurant in front of the ocean where the food is amazing. The staff at the bar provide you really good advices, don't hesitate to ask, they are kind and they know much more than any book guide or blog. You have the oppportuniy to swim at the ocean just in front of the bar ! Your chalet is cute and very comfortable, quite big actually for a couple, and mostly the entire area is really calm. It is a paradise place to relax, really one of the best hotel so far in my life."

"We had an amazing stay at Mangrove Beach Chalets in Tangalle, where we spent 14 nights, and everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The location is peaceful and beautiful — in our view, one of the best places to stay in southern Sri Lanka. The chalets and surroundings were spotless, with excellent daily cleaning both inside and outside. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help, making us feel truly at home. The service was outstanding throughout our stay. We especially loved the food, which was fresh, delicious, and clearly prepared with care. The laundry service was also very convenient during our long visit. We would definitely return and highly recommend Mangrove Beach Chalets to anyone looking for a relaxing stay with great hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful experience! 🌴"

"This place is absolutely a dream. A hidden piece of paradise. We wanted something far from the noise of the city and Mangrove Chalets are just perfect for that! The accommodation is modest but has everything you need and is just few steps from a beach and their restaurant. The food is incredible, whatever you take it will taste super delicious. And a fabulous breakfast on top, local option available too. The staff is great, friendly, helpful and smiley. Always happy to help. Comfy bed, large shower, large room. Patio with some (German:) library. Kayakying for free - take a kayak and enjoy the local lagoon, where you can kayak peacefully and without anyone else around. Didn’t find any cons and not even the walk through the wooden bridge is one. 😃"

"you cannot top this, there is everything you need for a perfect seaside holiday; perfect water for swimming (also be aware of the big waves), a beachbar/restaurant with tasty food and good drinks (best passionfruit mojito ever), sunbeds , palmtrees, and a mangrove forest you can explore with the cayac.The room was spacios, with spectacular view from the terrace, big bathroom, we slept with open window , listening to the see. The staff is superhelpfull and kind!"

"Great location. The resort is in front of rocks that protect from an often rough sea. Calm, peaceful, decent breakfast, some meals excellent (stick with the curries and pasta). Great staff."

"There a a few things that would elevate the resort from very good to outstanding. Wifi is only available in the restaurant and phone coverage for eSIM is very variable, so wifi in the room should be standard. A fridge in the room should be provided. For breakfast you’re given a choice of a fruit plate or juice which seems a bit petty, it should be both."
