"It was cosy, a nice way to meet fellow travellers, and we had free dinner every evening together. A very relaxing rooftop and Pool as well and very friendly and helpful staff."

"Second time here great location short walk to the beach and easy trip into Colombo on bus or train. Staff are always super helpful. Double room large and clean with hot shower. Good simple breakfast available and complimentary dinner provided great for solo traveler."

"Great locations. Morning walks on the beach - yes please! Love the evening family dinner, never had that experience in a hostel before and after a long day it was very much appreciated. Lovely rooftop space to also crack open the laptop and do a little work!"

"The owner of the hostel is really friendly and helpful! He gave us a lot of tips for our journey and told us a lot of stories. And what I really liked was the free family dinner every evening to connect with the other travelers by having a great meal!"

"This is an amazing stay if you want to spent time by the beach. The beach is just 200 m from the hostel and beautiful. The staff is so friendly and helpful in every way. Vibe is also fun.. you get to meet lot’s of people here which is very good thing if you are travelling solo. I liked everything."

"Loved how social it was, how straight away we were invited to join the conversations by the volunteers working there, the communal dinner. Nice location and parking too!"

"We had a truly wonderful stay at this heritage villa. The service was exceptional throughout, and the meals prepared by the in-house chef were consistently delicious. Highlights included an evening BBQ and memorable conversations around the roaring fireplace in the living room. The beautifully manicured private garden, where we were served a delightful high tea, added to the charm of the experience. The location is also very convenient. Special thanks to Mr. Silva, who organised all our requirements with genuine warmth and a constant smile. We would highly recommend Brockenhurst Bungalow for a refined and relaxing getaway. ☺️"

"We arrived very late in the evening, but check-in was no problem, they waited for us. The rooms were clean, the water was hot, comfortable beds, a terrace and air conditioning - what more could you ask for. In the morning, an amazing buffet breakfast with a wide selection of food, coffee, tea and juices. The view from the room, or from the restaurant of elephants bathing in the river is an unforgettable experience. We stayed longer and had a swim in the pool after breakfast with a beer and a view of the elephants in the river. An absolutely amazing place above the river."
