"Beautiful reclusive location in iðunnarstaðir. It feels very exclusive, and is very much worth the price. The spring is beautiful and gives stunning views down the valley. There's also some great waterfalls and a historic viking baptism site slightly further east. Staff were also extremely friendly and welcoming."

"No major complaints, great hotel. Worst is that drinks can feel expensive, but I hesitate to call that a complaint."

"Very nice staff. Peaceful location. Comfortable and wonderful views. Its appearance is rather like portakabins but that belies a pleasant but very simple interior with spacious rooms. Has a very pleasant hot spring."

"It is in an isolated location so be aware catering is limited - basic but good quality"

"Our third time Basalt hotel, and still it is heaven on earth! The rooms are spacious, with great beds and a great shower and a huge bathroom! Of course we emerged ourselves the hot tub, with the amazing view on the valley. The hosts are so friendly, and nice to meet one of the owners again ☺️ We will certainly return! Huge recommendation!
