The family is incredibly kind and welcoming, and they went above and beyond to organize all my trips both around town and further afield. They are very knowledgeable and always happy to help with anything. It also meant a lot to know that the funds from the guest house support a school for the local community. The reception was almost never occupied, and the person on the indicated phone number did not speak English. So checking in and paying was a bit tricky. Internet is a bit slow for working, but OK. Also, mind that you may need to bring your own shampoo, soap, and hair dryer.

"Location, courtyard, the food was very good, the room had a lot of heating (allmost too much). I don't know why some people complained about the food, it was very good, especially their sausages."

The rooms could use a little bit of repairs. The window cover kept falling off and the shower door kept getting out of the tracks.

"Our booking was made very late and despite this we were so warmly welcomed. There was beautiful Cape Verdean music being played when we arrived by two incredible musicians which was lovely. And the breakfast in the morning was delicious. The fresh mango juice was particularly mouthwatering!"

The staff were friendly and helpful from the very first moment, always available without ever being intrusive. My room was bright, spacious, and very quiet — perfect for relaxing after a busy day. "Large, clean and modern room with a hairdryer and enough plugs. Parking available. Nice breakfast with home-made yogurt and jams. Internet was satisfactory. The dinner at a (somewhat high) price of 30 Euro per person was good. Good service overall. The owner, Mr. Desprairies, is very professional."

Though we did like the breakfast, we saw that eggs are offered for an extra charge. In most hotels this is standard, so I would recommend to just include them in breakfast. Also, the coffee was so so.

"Great location. Room has a nice view of the city. Easy self check-in process which they explain via videos they send on whatsapp. Communication with the staff via whatsapp was also easy and fast."

Rugged floors looked not too clean, there were a few hairs on the bed (which I don't care too much but could be an issue for some others)

"This is a small hotel in a superb location with colourful gardens and excellent views. The friendly and hard working staff were extremely helpful, and the owner Primus met us at the airport and drove us to the hotel, for a pre-arranged fee. This made our arrival so much easier and stress free. He also arranged car rental for us which was excellent value. There's a nice lounging area overlooking the bay, good for watching sunsets, and a refreshing pool. Home cooked food available lunch and dinner, as well as breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed a most memorable and relaxing stay."
