"This hotel is one of the best hotels i have stayed in excellent location. Room was lovely and big. Staff were lovely. Food was amazing and live music topped it off loved this hotel."

"Home from home feeling, relaxed friendly atmosphere, lots of places to sit and relax with a drink or just relax in front of open fires. Food exceptional, extensive choice in buffet breakfast, dinner menu varied with everything we had very good indeed. Staff are all lovely, nothing too much trouble."
"Nothing really about the hotel. Location is ok, there is a forest river walk nearby. May not suit young family, attractions are a drive away."

"A stand-out feature by far, was the staff. From the reception, to the bar, to the breakfast & restaurant, the staff were excellent, really friendly and accommodating. We had a great sized-room and an ample en-suite. The breakfast was very reasonable, with lots of variety - though the sausages were poor quality, as were the tea-bags for some strange reason. The wholemeal bread was great. We had an evening meal on one of our 4 nights and again, it was good quality/value, without being anything noteworthy It was also lovely to stay in a family-run hotel, without all the trappings of a 'chain' hotel - with many quirks and a great fire in the bar - which served great coffee!"
"Apart from the sausages - the ensuite shower was very poor. Though there was plenty of hot water, the power was noticeably poor. Ours needed to be upgraded. There were some unpleasant smells from the en-suite at different times - not sure if it's the plumbing or the drainage, but they were strong enough to be smelt in the bedroom. The internet was also iffy. Really poor coverage at times in the bedroom - and if you're going to have Prime/Amazon on the TV, at least have it working properly. It didn't."
