La Chaumière

"Location was amazing. Walking distance to everything central in Strasbourg, while being very quiet. The apartment is very charming, across three levels, lots of light, plenty of sleeping options (3 full/queen beds and one single). We are a family of four with two teenagers, who loved sleeping under the roof. Our dogs were welcome also which was wonderful. We stopped to unload right in front of the building (it's a small street but worked well), and then parked 8-10 min walk away at Parking Saint-Nicolas (very reasonable prices!)"

"I don't believe that this place is safe for little children or people with mobility difficulties due to the number and steepness of stairs. The flat itself is two flights up, and in the apartment has two more levels. This makes it very cosy and charming, but not suitable for everyone."

"Loved this quirky apartment. Brilliant location. Great safe and quiet environment. Was warm and cosy and full of charm. The ladder type stairs within the apartment are actually really easy to get up and down and not to be worried about at all. The hardest part was the flights of stairs to actually get up to the apartment itself. Be prepared for that. We were, but it still was a lot to get the cases up and to trek each time you came back from somewhere. I would stay here again."

"The bathroom door doesn't allow much privacy but can work around it. The fridge wasn't very clean."

"No breakfast included. Excellent location. Two bathrooms was a bonus. No coffee maker that worked but found a great café nearby. Nice touch to see a vase of fresh flowers in the kitchen. A bit of a challenge getting luggage up to the loft. A quaint place with charm and comfort. Property owner was quick to respond to any questions or requests we had. Would definitely recommend. Good value."

"Amazing location! Perfect walking distance to so many attractions. Very quiet overnight despite being so central. Amazing to hear all of the church bells every day. Very well stocked. TV is useful. Gorgeous style of old building. We are a tall family so occasionally bumped our heads but it was worth it for the gorgeous stay!"

"Nicholas and Catherine were so accommodating, communication and the apartment were both excellent. Such a lovely place to stay in Strasbourg and very central to everything. My wife and I, with our four adult children had more than enough space to relax and interact. I would book again in a heart beat. We were truely grateful for our time (4days) here."

"Extremely kind hosts - they allowed us to leave our luggage earlier! We got the keys and checked in without live contact. The location is exceptional 5 minutes from everything on Grand Ile, in the heart of the old town. The apartment is on three levels and is in the typical old building, a real experience. The hosts have taken care of all the comforts. The kitchen had an array of dishes and spices, fully equipped. It has a bathroom with a toilet and a separate toilet. There are 3 double beds and 1 single. The beds are quite comfortable, but not the pillows."

"One only significant drawback - the hot water runs out after the 3rd person and for the remaining 3-4 it does not warm up within 2-3 hours, there is no hot water until the morning. If the hosts try to fix this problem, the place will be perfect. Not a drawback, but be aware that there are no doors between floors and the stairs are a bit steep."

"Leider gab es zwei kleine Minuspunkte: Im Badezimmer herrschte ein ständig unangenehmer Geruch, der etwas störend war. Zudem wäre eine Dusche statt nur einer Badewanne praktisch gewesen."
