La Bastide

"Great location! Very close to the main square, lots of good shops, and the small Carrefour city branch. It's a 10-15 minute pleasant walk to the old Cité but also very close to the train station (maybe 5 mins). There are two nice places to go for a run close by (the canal du midi and the path beside the river Aude). The flat is nice, it is spacious and has lots of storage. It remains quite cool when it is hot outside and it has aircon and heating in the living room, plus heaters in the bedroom. The check in and check out process is extremely easy and convenient."

"The flat is really good and I would recommend it but here are three small changes that would make it even better! 1. It would be really good if there were 2 keys to the apartment. It was difficult when one of us wanted to nap during the day as they had to wake up to let the others back in 2. It would also be good to have a rack for when the plates are drying after washing up. You can get foldable ones to save space and that would be really useful. 3. The duvets are quite small vs the bed size. It would be good to have bigger duvets, or a spare duvet for each room. We are 2 average sized adults and the duvet felt too small, e.g. we were always fighting for it which is unusual."

We didn't bother cooking in the apartment, so local bakery for breakfast, and good choice of restaurants for lunch and evening meals. The apartment was spacious and clean, with everything we needed. It is very convenient to visit the medieval city. 15min + walk."

"Silly thing, but hand towels would have been ideal. We did have a problem with the WiFi because of the wrong information posted. But this was sorted by a quick phone call to the owner. The TV didn't have English language, This didn't affect us as we didn't need it."

"Sizeable property with everything that you need for a relaxing stay. Only 15min walk from the medieval city (the reason we visited Carcassonne) and plenty of shops & restaurants on your doorstep."

"We didn’t use the lift (I assume that it worked), but anyone with mobility issues may struggle with the spiral staircase up to the 3rd floor. Great to have aircon but this only covered the living room & kitchen so fans in the bedrooms would be nice as they were very warm on hot days."

"Great location, on a pedestrianised street close to the main square, restaurants, bars, shops plus the Canal du Midi and River Aude for walks. The ancient city is also an easy walk away. 10mins walk to the station for trains towards Toulouse one way and Narbonne the other. Station staff were helpful and patient with my poor French. 3mins from the airport bus stops, the Museum des Beaux Arts and the fabulous patisserie and chocolatier Bimas. The flat has everything you need, the beds were extremely comfortable and the shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. The Bastide owners responded to queries within 24-hours through the Booking.com website, but we couldn't find a way to contact them directly."

"The bedrooms are large and bright, but the living room has only borrowed light from the 'patio' which is a light-filled but completely covered space with plastic chairs and plastic plants. There was no local information available in the flat - but lots online and from the tourist office just round the corner."

"La Bastide is characterful building in a fabulous location just a couple of minutes from the buzz of the main square . The 2 bedroom air conditioned apartment was very spacious and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Great water pressure in the bathroom ."
