"The reception staff were friendly and helpful. I travel a lot for business and this is the first hotel I have stayed in where i was shown to my room in person, was a nice touch. The room, as you enter, the first thing that hit me was the bed, so big it has different time zones on each side. Could have slept 4 or 5 in that thing. Instead it was just me in the middle. The hotel is in a small town, out in the countryside and was very quiet. There is some building work going on there but it wasn't loud. It has a nice garden and small piece of woodland to walk. The restaurant has some outdoor seating for the summer, shame i went in January really."

"The Hotel De'Univers is in a great location in Caen City just opposite Caen harbour and 3 minutes from the castle & shops. There are good bars & restaurants very close by. Stefan, the hotel owner, was great & helpful & spoke perfect English. I paid a little extra for breakfast each day and got good value for that. The rooms are quite small but the bed is very comfortable and the rooms are clean and well maintained. I was able to park my motorbike right outside the hotel. There is a large car park opposite the hotel too. There is a large market on the harbour car park & street on Sundays that took me an hour to walk around....recommended to see. The front door has a key code, so you can come and go as you wish."

"This is a charming hotel. We liked the welcoming and helpful reception, the particularly excellent restaurant and the general French ambience. We have stayed here on several occasions and shall do so again. It's very bear the centre of town and looks out over the sea."

"Check in and out was straightforward. Room clean, serviced, and a good size. Staff on the desk were helpful and multi lingual. I can't rate the breakfast as I didn't take that option. A good boulangerie is next door. Location is ok for metro transport, 6-8 minute walk, but a little way out of the centre of Paris if that's where you want to be."
