She was exceptionally welcoming and friendly, despite our v poor French and we enjoyed a convivial dinner together. "What a lovely cottage by the river. Iulia and Alastair have spent time to make such a lovely property and wonderful experience. They have thought of everything from an amazing bathroom with relaxing standalone bath, a cozy lounge with log burner to well stocked kitchen. The cottage is wonderfully eclectic with bedrooms on different levels that just add to the attraction. Iulia and Alastair were lovely hosts on site - they introduced us to their really friendly dog, Filou and a donkey, Rio (hand reared and incredibly friendly). We managed to go skiing at Cauterets which was great and reasonably close. We day tripped to the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao which is worth the trip. Maison de la Riviere is well positioned for peace & tranquility on site with accessibility for the mountains and the sea....and we ate on the terrace in the sunshine (in February!). Huge thank you to Iulia and Alastair."
