"I really liked the price and how clean everything was. The front porch was nice, the location was nice, and I loved the convenience of the beach being a 2 minute walk away. In the morning I could hear the waves from my window."

"The staff is amazing! It's a family and it's very welcoming. House is clean, you share kitchen and bathroom and both are daily clean. Very close to the beach and all the restaurant!"

"The host is SO KIND and helpful. The location was great: on a quiet street but very close to the beach and main street. The room is a bedroom in a shared, Costa-Rica-style house, so it gives the feel of a more local stay (as opposed to foreign-styled hotels). There's also a kitchen guests can use, which helped us save money (Playa del Coco is expensive!!!)."

"The only things I didn't like were about Playa del Coco itself (it's expensive and feels more like America than Costa Rica). I have no complaints about the hotel, it was great!"

"Coco Verde was amazing. The owners kept the place spotless. Lovely little casita. Beautiful kitchen area, tiled floors, lovely long wooden table in front of window that allowed breeze to flow in. I even had my own bedroom. 300 meters to the beach. Highly recommend. As a retired woman travelling solo, I felt very safe and secure."

"Cesar was a fantastic host. He made us feel right at home. He was so passionate about Costa Rica and the nature around Arenal, and took us on a night walk around the property- we saw frogs, snakes and spiders. The view from the cabin onto the volcano was unbelievable. Upon arrival we were welcomed by a toucan, and saw loads of birds throughout our stay. Lovely breakfast at Mystico Park too!"

"Absolutely beautiful place, with stoning views. Very clean, very comfortable and perfectly designed private houses. Large, perfectly maintained pool. Natural shadow from trees. Cool breeze ( property is situated on top of the heal). Two best beaches and decent restaurant nearby. Very friendly and attentive owners. Getting there is difficult but it is also one of its strengths. It offers a unique experience."

"The atmosphere of the accommodation is really breathtaking: The sound of the sea, even in the bedrooms The garden with all the wildlife. We have seen sloths, howler monkeys, bats and little crabs just beside the house. In the trees around there are many birds, iguanas etc. The abundance of wildlife in the whole area. Communication with the rental company was perfect: kind people, fast answers"

It is on the riverbank of the canals of Tortuguero - please note this property is not in Tortuguero itself, but in a little village down the river called San Francisco - a 10-minute boat taxi will get you to Tortuguero, and there are multiple depatures of these each day. The family hosting this property are absolutely lovely and will really look after you! They showed much kindness and willingness to help. I'd happily stay here again :)"
