"The property on arrival looked exactly like it's pictures, the staff where friendly and helpful. We meet one of the farm dogs whom took us for a walk across the paddock to the creek where it went for a swim. Back at the ranch we meet the friendly hosts, dinner is a communal affair were you meet the other guests, on our first night was an amazing BBQ of local food. Our hosts enjoyed telling stories around the dinner table, it's here we learnt of the travels of the other guests and their recommendations within Uruguay.The next morning we went for a horse ride and off across the paddock with the dogs we understood why this is the land of the gaucho, the horses are so well trained and followed the instructions of the gaucho. The few days at the ranch went quickly and was the highlight of our trip to Uruguay"

"The place is very nice, downhills there are shops , uphills there are restaurants) Pepper valley is 30 min walk from the hotel. Administator Anastasiya is a very polite lady. And the person appointed for the service of the outside territory is nice as well."

Some of the staff ( not all) are rude. It is connected with their lifestyle and misunderstandings which appear when people ask for some things. Some do not understand that in a room there needs to be evth for eating and drinking even if a person eats out. In the best room of the new building still there is no fridge inside the room. However, the place for it exists as the furniture provided has particular space for it. The communication problems may occur so it is better to negotiate every single detail as the view of the relax may differ.

"Great welcome, the owner Pao was very attentive to my needs, brought me to breakfast in town every morning, his wife cooking me food for lunch and/or supper. I was by myself but didn’t feel alone having the family around, and Pao included me in his evenings with his friends. I had my own room with mattress on the ground firm but I find comfortable with a mosquito net. Shared bathroom but very clean toilet. Shower with the bucket with cold water - but invigorating and makes the experience authentic ! Nice setting with greenery. Hammocks to relax."

No WiFi available unfortunately, but I had my own SIM card with lots of gigabytes so it didn’t bother me to use my 5G. Roosters singing in the evening or early in the morning - but you get used to it / or put earplugs and it’s fine! Again it makes you feel in the countryside so it’s part of the experience!

Se ha preocupado en todo momento que estemos lo más agusto posible, y nos ha encantado todas las comodidades que tiene la casa, ha sido muy cercana y eso lo valoramos mucho, nosotros vamos a repetir, superaron nuestras expectativas, así que si estás en duda, entre dos alojamientos, ni te lo pienses, ven a la Casa de Campo de Prado."

"Nice place with a few cottages. There is a place to sit outside, grill etc We stayed in the room for 3 people, it was clean. Nice place to spend holiday, no issues. Beach is approx. 1,5 km (there is one closer, but not very nice beach)"

I think that all negatives are already mentioned in the previous reviews, but: - water smells (however my husband drunk it and had no issues) - kitchen could be more equipped (at least something for drying of dishes would be nice) - darker courtains will be nice, i saw light from opposite cottage all night

"This is a gorgeous hotel and location, not far from Caronado and Caracol Beaches. With a 15 minute drive to the shops and highway. I was greeted on the first day as soon as I arrived and shown to my room. There is a lovely swimming pool with an outdoor kitchen. The first night a family was having a party and invited me to join them, there was also an older couple, everyone was very friendly and respectful."

The first night I was a bit tired and just as I was going to sleep other guest were playing a game that kept me awake. That being said it was early in the night. Everything was quiet by 11:30pm. The room did have a weird smell, a mothball sort of smell, which is not something I like, others may be ok with. The wall were also thin as you could hear other conversations.

"This is not a standard hotel or gite or whatever, this is a special place. Expect no luxury here, this is not what Karims guesthouse is about. It is about being in a small village and in nature. Basically, this is as close to a home stay as you can book on Booking. You can choose a room or the stilted house (recommended) in a garden full of interesting plants. Your water comes from a well or the river, your coffee directly from the bushes around you, and the food from...actually I don't know where, but it is amazing. One of the Kpime waterfalls is just a short, but nice walk away, and you can roam the village or take a long walk to Yikpa waterfall (~4 h one way). And when you come back, you lay in a hammock with a fresh and local cocoa or sit in the garden. And the best, you don't need to be in Kpalime, with all the chaos, noise, and smells. Although it is something different, I really enjoyed my stay. Karim is a fantastic host and La montagne verde exactly my type of stay."

Just be aware what you are booking, and there is nothing negative about it.

"Peaceful riverside haven with a shaded terrace and deck opposite the cliffside Lycian tombs, which are lit up at night. The perfect place to relax. Close to shops, restaurants, cafes, bars etc. Our obliging host arranged a trip down stream to the beach on the public boat, which picked us up at our landing. On site parking a bonus."

We were only informed after booking that we needed to pay extra for the towels, bedlinen and that we needed to pay a deposit. We didn't mind, but I don't like we were only told after booking.

"It's a basic place with shared bathroom, bathroom and common areas all kept clean all of the people working are friendly and helpful."

No fault of property but local drains were smelling. Would benefit from a washing machine.

"La struttura è a dir poco favolosa, immersa nella natura. Abbiamo soggiornato due notti ma avrei fatto volentieri una settimana. L'appartamento molto grande, con un corridoio che affacciava sulla strada; dalla finestra della camera si vedeva il fiume. Ampio spazio per parcheggio ed inoltre l'host è una persona eccezionale che ha saputo anche consigliarci cosa visitare e dove poter mangiare bene e devo dire che ha superato le aspettative. Stupendo tutto"

Arrivando di sera, quando già il sole era calato, abbiamo trovato la strada - per raggiungere il posto - abbastanza buia. Nessun problema, basta esserne a conoscenza

"The hosts, the place itself with a dog Gigi, and the surroundings are just great and it feels very peaceful. We appreciated kind hospitality, local foods, and delicious homemade breakfasts. On top of that, you can taste their own wines and spirits. Rooms were spacious and the A.C. worked incredibly. If you are looking for a calm place to unwind I highly recommend to try this. Thank you, we will most likely be back!"

"The Eco Guest House is located in the owners estate. The chalet type accommodation had the living area and bathroom downstairs whilst the upstairs there is one bedroom with a queen bed and two single beds. The setting is absolutely wonderful for nature lovers. We did a bird touring with Wendy(the host) which was great and without her we wouldn't have spotted many of the birds. The balconies are great to sit and relax in and enjoy the bird life."

"Lovely cheap and basic hostel with a brilliant location, swim in the lake, go on the swing chairs over the water, chill in the hammocks.. The facilities are basic but adequate. Good parking for motorbikes. The food was good but limited options."

No free tea or coffee. You basically need your own transport to enjoy this property.

"Our stay at Steigenberger was very pleasant, the same day we started with a spa treatment - the Pharaoh bath, we got a special deal two for one. We had 3 massage therapists who took care of us💆‍♀️Higly recommending it! But let's get back to the beginning, we got welcomed by Ahmed, who gave us a beautiful room with a balcony facing the Nile. For many a dream come true.. You will be welcomed wih a refreshing cold hibiscus tea. The breakfast buffet there has a huge selection and in the evening you can also have a dinner buffet with a view to the Nile if you sit outside. There are two pools, gym, some stores with souvenirs around the hotel and even a swing to take a beautiful sunset picture with a view to the Nile. Thank you Ahmed for your assistance, we felt very welcome thanks to you. 💯☺️"

The surrounding area is poor, but don't be scared, the locals are welcoming and kind. Sometimes you have to be patient so order your breakfast early if you have an adventure day planned.
