"The location is incredible. The garden filled with fruit trees and flowers, birds (humming birds, roadrunners) and insects, is beautiful and the peace is priceless. A swim in the pool or the river is an absolute must. Juan is a great help. Despite our very bad Spanish, he remained patient and good humored throughout our clumsy attempts to communicate. The dog, Nina, is also a massive sweetheart. We went for two nights and ended up staying for four. We were sad to leave, so will have to return!"

"Lugar cómodo, limpio. Tienen una estufa a leña. Si bien no tenían leña, me comuniqué con la señorita y enseguida nos trajo leño para poder calefaccionar. Está en un barrio muy lindo! Hay restaurantes y otros locales cerca. A solo 10 minutos en auto del centro"

"Casa Maria was very conveniently located by the bus terminal in La Serena meaning we didn’t have to walk for too long with our big bags. Close enough to the centre and approx 25 minute walk to the beach. The hostel itself was very cute and full of flowers in the garden, had lamps and hooks as well as clean, good-sized bathrooms. The hosts were exceptionally friendly, going above and beyond to help us do our washing and give us directions around the town. We loved our stay!"
