"I really enjoyed staying at Camping La Y Griega, in Bocas del Toro. For me, the location is perfect because it is a bit further away from town (which can be very noisy), making the atmosphere much calmer and more peaceful. In addition, the two buses that go to the main destinations on the island stop right in front: to Playa Bluff or towards Bahía Dragón and Playa Estrella. Taxis to town cost 1 dollar. There are affordable options for both rooms and tents. The tents are set up on wooden platforms in a very cozy space with hammocks and sofas. The place is well maintained, with a beautiful garden and a fully equipped kitchen. Howler monkeys pass by very often, and you can also see hummingbirds, which makes the atmosphere even more special. The owner, Johny, is very attentive and friendly, and the volunteers are also very kind and helpful. If I return to Bocas del Toro, I will definitely stay there again. I highly recommend it."

"We had a lovely stay! The pool was absolutely wonderful and the staff were really friendly. The food from the restaurant was some of the best we had in Guatemala! The gardens were gorgeous and had some stunning birds in the trees! The room was really beautiful and the shower was powerful."

"Truly friendly staff, everyone was soooo welcoming, we felt over the moon when arrived to this camp...it is one in a lifetime experience...the staff goes over the mile to support you, I wish we stayed for to nights instead of one... we travelled the world but This Camp, its people, food, ambiance, scenery is out of this world... would highly recommend to everyone. "We had an amazing stay in this place. Everything was clean and new. Saff was really nice and helpful. The location is 30-40 minutes from Port Barton which is still close and it is so quiet there, brach is almost empty. Just when you want to use a grill, tell it to the staff a day in advance in case they dont have a charcoal. Would definitely recommend."

On Weekends it gets quite loud at the pool area as it is open to foreigners and restaurant guets in general.

"My friend and I stayed here in October for a few nights. It was lovely. We were upgraded to a really nice safari type tent room which was very cool / cosy. The whole place had such a nice, peaceful vibe. The staff were great - so helpful, especially Amos, Diana and Thomas. Highly recommend staying here"

It takes 20 minutes walking to city (still it is better than other tents which are located in sand dunes)

"I liked the concept of this place - It’s a rustic, farmhouse-like accommodation with the fireplace in our rooms and the horses outside. The hosts were very accommodating, giving us a free upgrade for our rooms and allowing a late breakfast. The food there was great. Would be good to have more matchsticks/some firestarters to light up the fireplace!"

It would be helpful if there was a bath mat provided to keep the floor dry. And I am glad that washing up liquid is now provided, as in previous years we have had to buy our own.
